Why So Sad? is a mission for improving people’s mental health started by skateboarder John Rattray in 2019. He hopes that one day the community will have the skills to help themselves and each other by having the difficult conversations whenever things get rough.
The upcoming Nike SB Dunk Low has a base made of light blue leather that wears away to reveal a yellow base coating. The words "Why So Sad? are sewn on the exterior of the mesh tongues with bright red Nike SB tags. The Predatory Bird, the mascot of the mission, is seen pulling a handstand while skateboarding on the mismatched insoles and on the side heel counter embroidery. The suede heel tabs and lace tips include question mark designs as additional accents. Rounding out the look with white midsoles and translucent frosty rubber outsoles.

- Unclaimed sneakers will be passed to other participants.
