UNDERCOVERISM
UNDERCOVERISM, also known as Undercover, is a sub-line of the influential Japanese fashion label Undercover, founded by designer Jun Takahashi. Launched in 1993, the UNDERCOVERISM line presents a unique blend of streetwear and high fashion, characterized by its inventive reinterpretation of classic clothing styles and often dark, dystopian themes. The designs maintain a delicate balance between the chaotic and the orderly, drawing on punk aesthetics and contemporary art. Takahashi’s pieces are considered to be 'wearable art', merging form and function with a distinct narrative. They represent his concept of “strange but beautiful”, delivering sophisticated craftsmanship and compelling storytelling to the world of fashion.
