As the Olympics hosts the inaugural skateboarding events at the Tokyo 2020 Games this year, the collaboration between Nike and Dutch artist Piet Parra evolves to produce one of the most highly anticipated Dunks of the year. The partnership for the Olympics initially revolved around the artist designing the Nike SB federation uniforms. With the unexpected pandemic, the two parties got creative and whipped up a Dunk that coincides with the design of the team kits -- the “Abstract Art” Dunks.
Parra opted for the classic white Dunk low as the foundation of this collaboration wrapped with a gum sole. The white nubuck base is boldly decorated with the artist’s signature colors in wavy geometric shapes that mirror his latest works. The standout pattern is shown all over the shoes as it covers the mudguard, eyestays, heel, heel tab and tongue trim. A bolded black swoosh is shown on the sides, whereas Parra’s logo can be seen on the heel.

Designing the Nike SB federation kits was no easy task even for Piet Parra himself. Achieving the final form of the uniforms was a challenge due to the fact that there is no defining aesthetic within skateboarding culture. “I ended up choosing an abstract landscape idea that features some recognizable elements, shapes, and colors of the different countries,” says Parra of the completed design of the Olympic kits.

- Customers are to pick up their orders on August 5 between 12PM - 11PM
- Abu Dhabi customers will have an option of delivery.
- Strictly no returns, no exchanges, or refunds.
Frame reserves the right to:
- Cancel any orders that do not meet the specified requirements.
- Not honor any orders that appear to be the result of using bots.
- Not be constrained to the standard processing period when refunding orders that go against the terms and conditions.
