DAWN PROTOCOL

Music for motion at first light.

There is a specific kind of rhythm that belongs to Dubai before sunrise. The road is quieter, the air is lighter, and the canal feels like a line waiting to be held. Dawn Protocol was built for that window — a 15K long run at Dubai Canal, starting at 6:00 AM, moving at 5:50/km, and locked into a 180 cadence through a sequence of 174–175 BPM melodic drum & bass.

The brief was simple: begin in low light, settle into the stride, let the pace come naturally, and finish with enough lift to carry the last kilometres into sunrise. Nothing too chaotic. Nothing wasted. Just a clean progression from warm-up to push to finish.

Playlist Journey: Warm-Up & Early Miles: 01. Hybrid Minds ft. Tiffani Juno — "Touch"
A soft opening. Enough emotion to wake the body, but still restrained. The first breath, the first step, the point where the run begins to organise itself.

02. Etherwood — "Begin By Letting Go"
Loose shoulders, relaxed jaw, no force. A track that encourages patience before the rhythm properly locks in.

03. Netsky — "Rio"
Light on its feet and bright without becoming loud. This is where the run starts to feel less like effort and more like momentum.

04. Fred V — "Radiate"
Clean melodic lift. The cadence finds its groove here, and the body starts moving with less negotiation.

05. High Contrast ft. Clare Maguire — "If We Ever"
A classic emotional driver. Just enough vocal texture to give the run a pulse without distracting from the road.

06. Pola & Bryson — "Phoneline"
Polished, fluid, and steady. A good track for the point where form settles and the pace begins to feel repeatable.

07. Dimension — "Devotion"
Confident and controlled. This is cruising speed, where the effort is honest but never strained.

08. Sub Focus & Wilkinson — "Just Hold On"
Direct and efficient. A reminder not to chase too much too early — just stay with the rhythm and let it carry you.

Ridge Flow / Cruise 09. Wilkinson — "Afterglow"
A track that feels built for open roads. Euphoric, but still usable. It adds light without breaking the run's composure.

10. Becky Hill & Chase & Status — "Disconnect"
Sharper edges, a little more urgency. Good for waking up the legs as the middle section deepens.

11. Metrik — "Gravity"
Tighter and more driven, but still clean. This is where the playlist starts to lean forward slightly.

12. Chase & Status ft. Liam Bailey — "Blind Faith"
A grounded classic. Strong low-end, steady propulsion, and just enough grit to keep the run feeling real.

13. Camo & Krooked ft. Tasha Baxter — "Black or White"
Detailed and cinematic. A track that keeps the energy alive while holding onto the melodic thread of the set.

Technical / Descent 14. Pendulum — "Watercolour"
The point where the playlist opens up. Bigger, wider, more emotional — but still in service of the run, not against it.

15. Dimension — "UK"
A confident injection of pace. Crisp, direct, and perfect for the point where fatigue starts asking questions.

16. Sub Focus ft. Alpines — "Tidal Wave"
Big energy without losing elegance. A late-run lift that feels expansive rather than frantic.

Reset / Last Lift 17. Chase & Status ft. Takura — "2 Ruff"
Darker and more muscular. The sharpest edge of the set — a push track for when the body needs a stronger signal.

18. Friction ft. Arlissa — "Long Gone Memory"
A clean emotional release after the intensity. Still driving, but with a little more space in it.

Cool-Down & Reflection 19. Rudimental ft. Ella Eyre — "Waiting All Night"
A finishing track in the best sense — optimistic, familiar, and built for the last few controlled kilometres.

20. Netsky — "Come Alive"
Bright, open, and exactly where this run should be heading by now. The body is tired, but the rhythm still feels clean.

21. London Elektricity ft. Elsa Esmeralda — "Just One Second"
A little more reflective. It gives the finish an emotional contour without losing the pace completely.

22. Maduk ft. Veela — "Ghost Assassin"
The closing frame. Slightly dreamlike, still propulsive, and a good final note for a run that began in darkness and ends in full light.

Why This Works Built around 174–175 BPM melodic drum & bass, this playlist was chosen to sit naturally against a 180 cadence while keeping the run progressive from start to finish. The route, pace, and sequencing all point in the same direction: Dubai Canal, dawn, steady motion, controlled lift, clean finish.

Less about chasing intensity, more about holding a line. A soundtrack for early city miles, when the road is still quiet enough to hear your own rhythm.
